Canadian-Made Brands

Built for Performance

Our Story

Focusing on efficiency & performance

Ultra Cool Brands is the result of decades of innovation, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurial spirit, rooted in a proud family-owned Canadian manufacturing legacy dating back to 1983. The company began as a tool and die shop, manufacturing high-precision components for major brands such as Robertson (screwdrivers and power bits) and propane torch parts for Bernzomatic and Magna. This strong foundation in production excellence eventually led to the creation of Pro Torch, the company’s own line of propane torches. Pro Torch quickly gained traction, and within a few short years, it was being distributed to over 90% of the Canadian retail market. In 1995, the brand was acquired by Bernzomatic, with our team continuing to supply key components.

Recognizing a market gap in 2001, we pioneered a breakthrough in torch technology. Our team developed and patented a compact, handheld propane torch powered by an innovative aerosol canister—a revolutionary concept at the time. This advancement led to the launch of UltraBlue Technologies. The UltraBlue line was rapidly adopted by major retailers, including Home Hardware, Canadian Tire, Home Depot, and Walmart, as well as industrial suppliers like Wolseley, Emco, and Brafasco. Ultimately rebranded and expanded into the Ultra Flame Brand of today.

In 2007, the company entered a pivotal phase, redirecting its focus to a new and emerging market: automotive and home air conditioning. We dedicated the year to developing a robust line of refrigerants and sealants. Initially, growth in this segment was organic, leveraging our existing distribution networks.

However, by 2015, our A/C product line began gaining significant traction, quickly becoming one of the top three brands in Canada. By 2017, Ultra Cool products were available nationwide—from Canadian Tire, Princess Auto, and CarQuest to independent retailers like Chase Auto Parts.

As the business continued to evolve, 2018 marked a year of diversification and strategic expansion. Recognizing the need for a sustainable, year-round product offering, we reintroduced our torch technology and expanded our product portfolio to include ProTorch industrial-grade propane torches, fuels and accessories, as well as NuFlame butane torches and fuel.

Today, Ultra Cool continues to grow with a relentless focus on innovation, product quality, and customer satisfaction. Our commitment to excellence has fueled record-breaking growth, making us a trusted name in both consumer and industrial markets.
